Inserting and updating long lob colum
This is because storing the LOB in the row increases the size of the row.
When you run the insert/update, you will be prompted with the Enter Query Parameters window from which you can specify the filename.
For this reason, it is still quite common to see questions in Oracle forums about querying and manipulating LONGs.
These questions are prompted because the LONG datatype is extremely inflexible and is subject to a number of restrictions.
Is it a problem inserting NULL into BLOB or LONG RAW columns? We are experiencing difficultiesinserting into a table after the colum has been changed vom LONG RAW to BLOB.
